Not sure how much competition they had, but “Maine’s Finest Rock Band” Pegasus certainly made their case as champions with their one and only single in 1973. Burning out the gate is “Fire,” with a drum break intro that might remind heads of the classic Mary Mary break, but tougher. A heavy, acid rock headbanger with wild solos, “Fire” fits perfectly with the flip, “Things To Come,” an organ-powered, hi-octane freakout that sounds like the Spencer Davis Group on LSD and whiskey. This killer hard-rock nugget was rescued and given a fresh new mix from the original multi-tracks by Victor “The Undercover Brother” Piagneri and is now available on high-quality vinyl from Fraternity Music Group.
