Originally released in 2008 and quickly out of print, this tough funk two-sider from the mysterious Black Cat has been remastered and reissued by Fraternity Music Group for funk fiends everywhere. "Lovin' You" is a down and dirty instrumental take on Johnny "Guitar" Watson's slow burner (famously sampled for Jay-Z's "People Talking"), drenched in analog reverb and complete with monster drum break. The flip side is a raw reggae riff that alternates between The Meters' "Cardova" and a slinky variation improvised by the trio.
